Ragheb declared that he was honored to perform in Mauritania, and hopes that the overturn of power that occurred less than a month ago will come to a peaceful resolution.

Alama denied circulating rumors that he intends to pair up with controversial Lebanese singer Maria to sing a duet.

The singer’s managing office released a statement denying the rumor, adding that the only thing that had connected Ragheb to Maria was a recent concert in which both had performed.

Ragheb’s office added that the two performing at the same concert does not necessarily imply they will sing a duet, in addition to the fact that Ragheb does not have the time or the desire to pair up with another singer at the moment, reported the London based Elaph.

MIDDLE EASTERN STYLE IS THE NEW BLACK!

Proudly presenting the launch of Arabella, a glossy Middle Eastern lifestyles magazine tailored to the UK market, for anyone interested in Eastern culture.
This very stylish, specially tailored publication will be opening up its pages to readers in November 2005 and offers a multitude of information, entertainment and advice on social issues, beauty, fashion, health, and lots more.
This exciting new magazine has two main objectives. The first is to serve the needs of an already existing and growing number of individuals who are of Middle Eastern descent, but have been living abroad for an extended period, or were born/raised in the West.
“The Middle Eastern Woman lives a Western life while maintaining her Eastern values, especially when it comes to culture, family, fashion, and entertainment. Arabella understands and speaks to both of these aspects of her life by offering her articles and features that relate specifically to her needs and interests, as well as unique fashion and beauty that define her lifestyle,” says founder and Editor-in-Chief, Elvira Doghem-Rashid.
Not from a Middle Eastern background? Arabella is for you too! The second and equally important objective is to cater to those individuals who have a deepening interest in the East, a culture whose influence has been spreading like wildfire into all areas of Western life including food, music, dance, fashion, and even medicine. Why wait for the odd snippet on Eastern style and culture in the press and in other magazines when Arabella is packed full of all the things you want to see and learn about all in one place. And the beauty is that it is all in English.
“The influence of the Middle East can be seen in the kaftans on the catwalk or any number of singles in UK chart in recent times. There are belly dancing classes and Middle Eastern restaurants all over the country. People have always travelled to parts of the Middle East, such as Egypt, and increasingly Dubai, as two of the hottest places to visit,” comments Doghem-Rashid
“Moreover, people have always been interested in the Middle East, never more so than now, but they have rarely been able to scratch the surface. For the first time there is an accessible publication for people who want to learn more about the lifestyles and cultures born from this exotic and mysterious region. Arabella puts a real face to the often misunderstood Middle Eastern community in the UK”.
The concept for the magazine grew out of recognition of both the melding together of Eastern and Western cultures, as well as the lack of a centralised voice for this niche consumer group.
The magazine promises to be a big hit right from the get-go featuring intimate interviews with established personalities such as music super-star Ragheb Alama (the only Middle Eastern artist to perform at the Royal Albert Hall TWICE), and internationally renowned fashion designer to the stars Elie Saab, who will be previewing his entire fall collection in the launch issue of Arabella. The magazine will showcase the latest talent, with interviews introducing the Middle Eastern versions of Tom Ford and Jennifer Lopez. And all in the first issue alone!
As it is a lifestyles magazine, Arabella also covers a host of other topics from social issues, to food and health advice.
Sounds exciting and it is! If you’re on the edge of your seat with anticipation and find you really can’t wait till November to lose yourself in this new magazine, then you will soon be able log onto their website for a sneak peak of articles, a spot of shopping, and plenty more.
