Ragheb Alama invests in Saraya Aqaba Project

Sponsored by Saraya (A Real-Estate and Tourism Development Company chaired by Sheikh Saad Rafic Hariri), the Arab singer Ragheb Alama held a fundraising concert in Jordan on September 19th, aiming at supporting Arab children. The day after the concert, Ragheb Alama visited Saraya Headquarters in Amman.

During his visit to Saraya, the Super Star Ragheb Alama spoke from an investor's perspective, highlighting Jordan's economic growth, and the investment environment it has that is so encouraging for Arab and foreign investors alike. Ragheb Alama also pointed out that Saraya is contributing to this growth with the development of big projects, expressing his belief in the prosperous future of the company.

Vice Chairman and CEO of Saraya Holdings, Mr. Ali Kolaghassi, explained to Ragheb Alama the different components of the Master Plan of Saraya Aqaba project, Saraya Holdings' first project, in which Mr. Ragheb Alama has shares. They also discussed the partnerships between Sarya Aqaba and key private and public entities such as Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), the Jordanian Social Security Corporation, Arab Bank, Jumeirah and Starwood Worldwide Inc.

Ragheb Alama showed great interest in the different facilities and residential units that Saraya Aqaba contains. Ragheb Alama also expressed his admiration to the development that is taking place in the city of Aqaba, which will turn the city into a tourism and investment center in the near future.

Marketing and Corporate Communication Director in Saraya, Ms. Leonie Matta, said: "We have always appreciated Ragheb Alama support and belief in Saraya, provided that Ragheb Alama was one of the earliest investors in Saraya Aqaba. We really respect Ragheb Alama's art as much as his ongoing humanitarian activities in Lebanon". Ragheb Alama opens schools for refugees

Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama has traveled to the UAE after ensuring that his wife and children had left Lebanon safely en route to France. Ragheb Alama's family does not intend to return until the Israeli attacks are over and conditions in Lebanon are stable once more.

Before leaving Lebanon Ragheb Alama opened a number of schools for refugees forced to leave their homes to avoid Israeli attacks.

Ragheb Alama's business manager and brother, Khader Alama, said, “Ragheb is doing all he can from the UAE to help his countrymen in Lebanon by providing aid.”

Ragheb Alama has already sent food items, clothing, medicine and large cash donations, and his efforts are continuous, reported Khader.

Ragheb Alama singer has cancelled all entertainment activities, dedicating all of his time to assisting Lebanon.

Shortly before the war, Ragheb Alama returned from the United States and Canada, where he held a number of concerts. It was his first trip to the US after a four-year absence.

Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama and his band have headed off to the United States and Canada for concert tours.

According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Ragheb postponed his trip until visas for himself and his crew had been granted.

Ragheb has held a series of performances around the Arab world, and has chosen most of his new songs from composers in Egypt and the Gulf. He has chosen several romantic songs to send a message to his fans - He hopes for the unity of Arab nations, which is something missing from the region.

Recently, Alama held a concert in Dubai for the Iranian community, upon a request from an Iranian company based in the UAE. The concert was a great success, drawing a diverse audience.

According to the London based weekly, Laha, the concert was a great success, drawing a diverse audience.

Recently, Alama was shocked when American singer Michael Jackson appeared at a concert he was holding in Bahrain, where Jackson is currently residing.

On a different note, Alama denied circulating rumors that he is having marital problems with his wife Jihan. The singer assured that his relationship with his wife could not be better and they are on excellent terms.

Ragheb added that he is living a happy, stable life with Jihan and his two sons. The singer stressed that he is tired of individuals who consistently attempt to create problems for him and his family.

Prominent Lebanese superstar Ragheb circulating rumors that he intends on playing the leading role in a new film alongside internationally known actress Jennifer Lopes and to be directed by Egyptian director/producer Sharif Sabri, who is also the business manager of Egyptian controversial singer Ruby.

The singer revealed that the truth of the matter is that the singer had casually held a discussion with Sharif in front of a group of people and it was taken seriously, when in fact Ragheb gave it no importance and displayed no real interest.

According to the London based, Elaph, Ragheb stressed that he has not yet taken the decision to enter the acting world, and the plans of doing so is not on his current agenda.

It was rumored that Sabri confirmed that he will produce a new film starring Ragheb. Sabri would not reveal the nature of the film, stating that he welcomes Ragheb’s decision to make his debut on the big screen.

The real competition will take place the following day, featuring the internationally renowned “Formula 1” race car.

Production Company ‘Al Sabki’ has reached an agreement with controversial Lebanese singer Maria, known as the ‘corn flakes singer,’ for a leading role in a new film.

‘Al Sabki’ presented Lebanese singer Marwa with a leading role in the film "Haha and Tufaha," befitting from Marwa’s daring personality, and now hopes t do that same with Maria. According to the London based weekly, Sayidaty, Maria is expected to take part in a number of different films.

On a different note, Maria is searching for a male singer for a new duet, after Lebanese singers Wael Kfoury and Ragheb Alama declined.

Formal charges have been filed against Maria, ‘Melody’ music channel, and director Jad Shwairi in Dubai for Maria’s new music video.

Lawyer Essa Bin Haydar filed the lawsuit against ‘Melody’ for airing the clip "Tikdib Alia" (You Are Lying to Me), stressing that it contains scenes that are unfit for Arab viewers, and is against all ethical values.

Mariam Fares sings for charity

Lebanese singer Mariam Fares recently held a charity concert for the Love and Faith Association at their annual dinner celebration at the Movenpick Hotel in Beirut.

According to the London based Elaph, Mariam accepted the invitation to hold the performance with great joy and stated that she was honored to sing for a worthy cause, believing that every artist should take part in charity work.

Mariam performed a number of her most popular hits while the audience sang right along with her. Proceeds from the event went directly to needy families in Lebanon.

Mariam is scheduled to head to Tunisia to hold a Valentine’s Day performance at a grand event along with several other artists. After her Tunisian stop, the singer will head to Dubai to hold a concert at the Crown Plaza Hotel.

Mariam has joined the recent trend of Arab singers who have chosen to film their music videos in European countries.

Mariam chose Paris as the perfect location to film the clip for her song "Ha’lik Rahtak" (I Will Disturb your Peace) from her latest album "Nadini" (Call Me).

Other Lebanese singers who have chosen Paris to film their videos include Majida Al Roumi, Rami Ayash, Madelline Matar, and Ragheb Alama.

Director Wisam Samira chose the crowded streets of Paris for the setting to give Mariam a romantic and natural appearance. The video features the French Gymnase Marie Bella, one of the oldest dance theaters in Paris dating back over 250 years.

Egyptian director Sharif Sabri has confirmed that he will produce a new film starring prominent Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama. Sabri revealed that Ragheb has agreed to the story of the new film and preparations are underway.

According to the London based Elaph, Sabri stressed that he will not reveal the nature of the film, adding that he welcomes Ragheb’s decision to make his debut on the big screen.

Also, Sabri stated that there is a possibility that he may direct a music video for Ragheb in the near future.

The new project comes at the same time that Ragheb has finally reconciled with Muhsin Jaber, owner of the production company ‘Alam El Phan,’ who will produce the new film.

Recently, the singer spent a week between Paris and Dubai to select the most desirable locations to film his music video for the song “Sa’beh Itgheeb An Aini” (It’s hard to leave my sight).
